The 5 Tibetan Rites
I don't know why I'd never heard of the 5 Tibetan Rites before. I've been practicing yoga for about 13 years now, and the Rites had never crossed my radar. I don't feel too bad about it, though. I asked my partner about the Rites. She's been a yoga instructor for longer than I've been practicing, and she'd never heard of them either. I guess there is so much yoga out there, that it's difficult to know it all.
Putting Practice: Month 5
For 2022 I set a goal of achieving 70% putting from 25 feet. That seems attainable enough, and if I go higher than that, well, all the better. I'm reworking my putting style. There are a few reasons…

Disc Golf Goals for 2022
I've been playing disc golf for right at two years now. While I am happy with my progress so far, and while I win my MA60 age-protected division somewhat often, I still need a lot of work on…
I love disc golf!
Disc golf. Who knew? My friend Zakk Shanks knew. Back in December 2019, Zakk and I were talking, and he asked whether I'd ever played disc golf. I'd never tried it, and had only sort of heard of…
Disc Golf Videos - Aiming, Angles, Disc Selection
Bradley Williams is a buttery smooth player. His upshots are beautiful. In this video, he shares his technique and some drills to help perfect it. He focuses on the Nova, but the instruction is applicable to whichever approach…
Disc Golf Videos - Roller
Early on, I didn't throw rollers in disc golf, even though they would have been very useful for me, because I thought rollers were uncontrollable and scary. I found out more about rollers with these videos, though, and,…
Disc Golf Videos - Forehand / Sidearm
These are some of my favorite disc golf instructional videos that focus on the forehand (sidearm) throw. I am right-handed, so I find forehand most useful when I am trying to curve the disc from left to right.…
Noom is still great after two years!
It's October, 2021, so that means it's been about two years since I signed up with Noom, and I still feel great about the program! That's not to say that I don't fail more now than when I…
Disc Golf Videos - General
These are some of my favorite disc golf instructional videos. I categorize these as "general" because either they cover many different topics or they don't fit into the other categories I created.
Disc Golf Videos - Backhand
These are some of my favorite disc golf instructional videos for backhand throwing. The backhand is the most basic throw in disc golf. Some people find a forehand to be more natural for them. It's not for me.
Disc Golf Videos - Putting
These are some of my favorite disc golf videos for putting. Putting is the one piece of the game that everyone can do somewhat equally with enough practice. If I could consistently make putts from 30-45 feet, I…
Noom and me -- one year later
It's been a year since I signed up with Noom. Here are some facts. First the negative. My current diet is not what I'd like it to be. Specifically, I eat way too much sugar, mostly in the…
My life during quarantine and still losing weight with Noom ... sort of
Like many other people, I am living life in virtual quarantine because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This has been going on for about 1.5 months officially. I am in San Antonio, and we are pretty much opening back…
